High School Principal

I am excited and honored to be serving FHS as principal for the 2016-17 school year. This will be my third year and I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that await our students, teachers and staff. Our vision at FHS is to have every student college, career and life ready. For some students, this will involve enrolling at a two and/or four year college. FHS offers a variety of dual-credit courses through TVCC for students to earn college credit.

We understand that four year universities are not the best route for every student. Understanding this concept, FHS offers exceptional courses in Ag Mechanics, Agriculture Science, Certified Nursing assistant (CNA) and IV tech that prepare students for trade/tech schools or the workforce directly out of high school. In addition, many students enter the military upon graduation, so we encourage all students interested to take the ASVAB entrance exam.

Our extra-curricular program is diverse, competitive and a large part of the school culture. The mighty Indian Band recently received a 1 at the state competition and regularly travels to Disney World, Macy’s Thanksgiving parade and many more. Our athletic program recently added a fishing and rodeo team in an effort to give every student an opportunity to participate in something they love and enjoy. The theater program is up and coming with great young talent and our art department is loaded with amazing artists who decorate our school with pride.

FHS stays current on technology trends that impact teaching and learning. Every classroom is equipped with interactive smart boards that engage learners from bell to bell. In addition, all core teachers have classroom sets of iPads for students to learn collaboratively and digitally. Students learn more by “doing”, so students are encouraged to ask questions and create solutions through project based learning (PBL) activities.

We encourage you to come visit FHS and witness the great things that happen here every day. Learning is not contained to the four walls of the classroom anymore and noise is welcome! Want to stay up to date on what is taking place at FHS? Subscribe to the parent e-letter that is sent out every Friday. Also, “like” our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter.

I look forward to another great year at Frankston High School. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Go Indians & Maidens!!
